    v10 crash errors.

    Hi,

I have just purchased v10 and have encounted several errors while trying to build a new site.

I have been running v8.5.3 with no problems at all on Vista, v10.0.2 is a seperate install to build another website.

    1. Since the intial install of v10 I have been unable to compact the database and also get the red x error on closure of actinic.

the error message i get when trying to compact the database is the following:

    2. I made a start on building the site, adding a few brochure pages, creating sections with a few test products in with components, there is now one particular section with a product in that I cannot click on without actinic crashing. All other sections are working fine.

    This is the error message:

    3. At first I was able to upload the site, however after doing some work on it tonight, I can't now even upload the site and I get the same crash error message at the first one shown above.

Can anyone help as to why this happening? I've done some research and see I'm not the only one with these sort of issues with v.10.

    Thanks for any help

actinic support has been in touch and it's now in the hands of the development staff.

I will post back with any updates, so as to help anyone who may have similiar issues / errors.

Actinic have solved the problem, it was a corrupt entry within one of the tables in the database. I have replaced the database with the file they have sent me and all seems well again.

Now onto some updates for www.procutvinyl.co.uk

            Thanks

At the moment I'm still unable to compact the database even after a full re-install of the software and importing the site back in, the error message still remains.

How important is this issue in relation to the future of the site build? this is a new site that I haven't really even got going on due to this error.

Is the error going to cause me problems further down line if not fixed? I assume it will do? I'm not really happy to continue with the development of this site with this outstanding issue.

Actinic support have been great and replied back promptly to my e-mails, it just seems at the moment anything we throw it, isn't fixing the problem

Have you tried updating to 10.0.3? released yesterday, can't be any worse can it, might just fix it.

                  Hi Lee,

Just tried this and although actinic 10 seems to be working ok from the upgrade, the problem still remains.

hmm, I wonder if actinic do downgrades!?!?! lol at least my 8.5.3 works on my other site.
