Special Instructions in Customer e-mail

Can anyone help with a way to add the special instructions field into the customers e-mail that they are sent when an order is placed. I can see various ways of doing this but not for V10.

If you know how to do this for v8 or v9, it will be the same as that, not a lot has changed between the three versions in that area.
