Firstly run a network test and check for errors.
Then if no errors do a purge and refresh of the site - Backup first.

        Network errors

        Hello again

        the network test shows errors

        I have attached file

I have spoken to my service provider who assures me that all the

various permissions are correct and when we do a test upload

everything works apart from the missing payment page

Could it then be the firewall and if it was this causing the error

would that cause me to have no payment page? I am not sure that

        the issues are related.

        Regards

You need to resolve the network errors - Actinic will not work correctly unless it passes the network test with no errors.

Have you personally tested the permissions or just gone on what your host has told you?

You say the site is up on test mode - is your older version site still running in production mode? If so is it working correctly?
What version are you upgrading from?

            Hello again

I am being told they are correct not sure how to check myself
although I have been using the same people since we started
            with v7

I should be able to look we run our own dedicated webserver for actinic
there is nothing else on there

our existing site is live and working ok

            www.grahamsandersoninteriors.com

I am upgrading from Business Multi user 9.0.5.0.0.0.JZHA

we have not had this before the network test was fine on v9

although we have not been able to upload to that site since 6th dec

because of the size of the site it was getting runtime errors so we

have had no choice but to change to V10

we have had firewall issues before when an automatic update was applied

            to the server

we are running v10 on window server 2008 64 bit now

this is a new machine we have just for actinic on the network

we have been having problems running the software itself on this

machine it ran better on our older server windows 2003

I think we may put windows 7 on instead,it seems to stop responding and
            freeze the machine when editing

we are getting round this for the moment by editing with a remote machine
although I still havent been able to update but uploads are quicker

however our main concern is being able to update our website,we seem
to be able upload ok it doesnt cut out
but now we have the missing payments page

sorry to go on but I have had an open ticket with support since 6th Dec
and having resolved my upload problems now I have this issue

            Regards

            Graham

Does the network test pass for the running v9 site?

V9 is on my older machine

Just run V10 on older server with windows 2003

and network settings work fine on that machine

are there any issues regarding running actinic v10 on

                  windows server 2008

                  regards

im guessing this is a problem with your setup, windows 2008 server is alot more secure and as such will block certain things. Have you tried login into your server administrator and turning off all security to test? Also this is a common error when there are problems communicating with the server. You will get similar errors on upload with a flakey internet connection (trust me i have this alot at the moment thanks to tescos dgging up my phone lines)

my suggestion would be to install v10 on the v9 machine and test from this.

personnaly i would not use server software to run applications like actinic. It is what it is "a server" sure host a site on a windows server, i do here for testing purposes with my own dns servers but not to run actinic

                      Ok Darren

                      Thank you for that

I tried v10 on our old server and it cut out I dont think it is powerful enough

I think we will have to change the operating system to windows 7 professional

on the new machine which is better spec

                      Kind Regards

you might want to let it run, Actinic has this habbit of looking like its died when infact it is running (very slowly) when you import a snapshot

                          Ok Darren thanks

It just cuts out on upload with a runtime error

this is the problem we had with v9

so we organised a new machine and upgraded to v10

this uploads ok but doesnt do the file merge and has the network

                          setting errors

I think my IT guy thought it would be a good idea to use 2008 server

However we are changing it to windows 7 in the morning hopefully

                          this will resolve it

We were going to have to try it on 7 I think anyway as it just freezes

most of the time when we use it

but our main concern is to update our site has we have not had

                          successful upload for 6 weeks

                          Kind regards

                            Working fine now

                            Just to conclude

re installed now on windows 7

                            changed rule on firewall

                            and all ok now

all a learning curve for me

so just for the info Actinic didnt run on windows server 2008

and the firewall on my server was the cause of my network setting error

Thanks guys for your input it pointed me in the right direction

                            Kind Regards
