If you're not technical then don't try changing any scripts. Just make sure that your product references don't contain any special characters.
Could you let us know what the product reference was please?
A note for others / Actinic: The configuration file that's erroring is automatically generated by Actinic. There's usually one per Section. If you have lots of products on that Section they'd all be broken because a single rogue product reference is poisoning the entire file. Actinic should not be letting such characters through into the .CAT files.
