I've never once copied any image to any preview folder, not sure why you'd need to do that. I've heard various people say the same over the years every now and then, i've never done it in 6 years. Heaven knows what that problem is.

I thought it was because they are uploaded as additional files...

So they are not automatically in the preview folders.
Copying them and pasting them inot the preview folders is the same as uploading as 'additional files' or so it seems to me?

Why not just do an upload if that is the case?

I didnt think this was a problem because they will be uploaded to the server by the 'additional files' function.

All references to the files I have used have no filepath... they are just <img src="filename.jpg"> I didnt use a path as I am uploading these to the site folder online using 'additional files' so I didnt believe they would need a path as they will be in the root.
When you preview the local folder is DesignPreviewHtml and when you use web preview the local folder is PreviewHtml, hence the reason you had to copy the files which are referenced as src="filename.jpg" which means look in the local folder.

Actinic automatically changes some references in the Actinic code to point to one of these two folders when previewing, but not the hand coded ones like yours. As for the error message this may be related to this point but it might be soemthing else that the code is looking for, possibly related to the flash you are using.
