Fragment Issue

I have a client website that started out in V5 and over years has been upgraded to V10

When adding line breaks in the TEXT box of a fragment, rather than the standard <br /> Actinic is putting empty <p></p>. I've gone to the design text area under HTML and there's no reference to <p></p> as it states <br /> should be used. Yet it's still putting in <p> tags.

My fear is some of the fragment variables have become corrupt. Any ideas how could reset these variables maybe? as running out of ideas

I think in v7 you could choose between br and p as the spacer, have a trawl through the old v7 threads to see if you can get some guidance.
