    Custom Properties V10?

    Hi,

    I am trying to link an external menu I have developed in a 3rd party piece of software and it states to manually add a given piece of code to 'Actinic Custom Properties' and point to the location of the menu.js file (site1) in order for the menu to appear within actinic. Unfortunately I cannot see a 'custom properties' within actinic.

    Has this been replaced in V10? If so how would I achive this in V10

    Basically the menu is showing this: src="CUSTOMVAR:AWMLINKCODE"

    I guess I just need to find a way of getting a custom variable called AWMLINKCODE to point to 'site1/menu.js'

    Can anyone help? I tried creating a variable in design library and selecting the type=filename option and browsing to menu.js but nothing shows up in my template.

    Firstly, have you created a custom variable called AWMLINKCODE?

      HI,

      I think so! That is, I went to Design>Library>Variables and entered a new variable there, called it AWMLINKCODE. (I then set the type to filename) Is that correct?

        I don't know what your code looks like in perspective but have you tried this:
        src="<actinic:variable name='AWMLINKCODE'/>"

          Yes I did try that code too but with no joy so I wondered if this variable needed to be created elsewhere. I think I'll fire off an email to the menu support as its definitely 'old instructions' they are providing. Thanks for your help.

            If you're using AllWebMenus then I think that their documentation is for the rather old Actinic V5.

              Hi Norman, Yes I think you are right. Their website indicates that the add-in for actinic is recently updated version but the instructions are definitely from much older version of actinic so I've asked them if they can provide newer instructions.

              After much playing I have managed to get the menu into actinic but only a pre-populated menu whereas I am trying to add a menu that is populated 'on the fly' by awm.

              If I have any joy with support i'll let people know.
