Listing search results

Hi all,
We are continuing to populate our new site, and have noticed that the search results have got a bit mixed up.

If a keyword is typed in to the search box, it list only 2 or three items, yet with others a long list of results is produced.

Example, type in Lec and even though there are many Lec products, it only lists three. but type in hood and it lists every cooker hood on the site.

i have refreshed the site and am not getting any error messages.

seems a bit odd.
I found some products in the catalogue that do not get returned from the search box too.

Like searching 'L5010W' doesnt return the product..
which is there on the page;

Have you tried compacting the database to see if this does anything?
Then 'refresh' the site
Back up the site first. (snaphot)
