    Exporting customer accounts

    Hi

I would like the ability to send an email to all my customer accounts. How do I export all customer account details into Outlook?

    Thanks

My wife says sorry, but she's too busy doing the household chores to respond in detail! Apparently, it's in V10 under 'Marketing' and she taught herself how to do it from the Help tab in there.

"Get off that computer and come and help me!"

But I got the impression that this was sending emails to people who had previously actually placed an order, rather then the entire Customer Account base.

    "Oi! Did you hear me?"

IIRC, in V9 she found the data in the Access database and exported columns to Excel where it could be manipulated and then imported into Outlook.

In Excel go to Data - Get External Data - From Access, then browse to your ActinicCatalog.mdb and select the Person table and OK

OK, but I suspect that you will find that the Table contains for each Customer Account, an email address for the Account and one for the Buyer. In most cases these are the same, so the duplications have to be deleted in Excel.

Unless, of course (and I know nothing) Outlook doesn't import an address that it's already got.

Alternatively of course just export the customer accounts (File - Export) and then in Excel filter on Header:CustomerBuyer.
