    Allowing customers to register online

    Hi

    URL:www.gprsmodems.co.uk

I recently setup "Allowing customers to register online" as per the advanced guide page 110. Works fine except I dont give customers a choice in regard to payment, subsequently when a user applies online the request finishes up on the PSP page looking for card details!! I have set up €0.00 and no weight etc. I am aware you can have different payment methods for example "invoice with order" however I dont want to offer options to customers for normal daily sales. Is there any easy solution that can be applied to a zero rated product whereby it avoids PSP payment pages? This facility is disabled at present on my site.

    Regards

Not answering the question I know, but we gave up with that unwieldy method and use Constant Contact, (which also has other uses) to create a SignUp form.

Regardless of the payment issue (good point, we changed pre-PSP days) you receive the request ('Order'), create an account from it, then upload the site - possibly several times a day.

With CC we say 'allow 24 hours', download a csv file with all the days applicants, create the accounts, then upload all at once.

Overcoming the PSP issue may need to be added to the Wishlist as it rather negates the method shown in the AUG, which wasn't good anyway.

Thanks for the feedback. I am debating whether it is worth using as at present I generally create a login from the first online order. I do feel if you use the word trade and promote logins business should increase. Do you find a large percentage of people use the Constant contact or do you find customers order anyway just by shopping through the general shop?

V11 will have this facility, just something to add in the mix and think about.
