    Couple of 10.0.3 upgrade issues...

    Hi All

We were running with 10.0.1 and all was well. We updated to 10.0.3 and I imported a site I am working on.

2 issues that I am getting...

    1. I add a State/province to a Country. I assign the tax and shipping to be used for this added State. I do an upload, and all is working fine on the Site.
I close Actinic for the day. I open it the next day, and the added State has gone?
So to test this, I add it again - close actinic, open actinic and it is gone again.

How can I get this added to save in the database?

    2. After the upgrade, when I view a page locally, or in Design view, it is looking for images etc in

    C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/Actinic v10/Site-Name/PreviewHTML_Administrator/

    Rather than

    C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Documents/Actinic v10/Sites/Site-Name/Preview_HTML

Why is this? Can I change it so the site files etc are all in the same Site folder, rather than in 2 separate places on my machine?

    Cheers

    Grant

OK - now I cant get my Extra State to stay at all....

I go to Settings / Locations

    I have 1 Country - United Kingdom

With 3 States that stay saved - England, Scotland, Wales

I add my fourth State - Conwy and give it an abbreviation.

I click OK - the Locations closes.

I open it again and Conwy is still there.

I open Settings - Business Settings - I dont do anything here - I just close it.

I open up Locations again and Conwy is gone?

I add Conwy Again - go to business settings to add this zone to tax and shipping etc and it is not there.

Why does it keep losing this State?

It seems that the States are limited to 3??

I added in a fictitious country called Bob, with 4 States (Sue, John, Arthur, Gerald)

Click ok - close Actinic - open actinic again and Gerald is gone!

Is there a setting somewhere for the number of states you are allowed in 10.0.3 ?

OK - another tack - any issues with rolling my actinic back to 10.0.1 ?

Would this just be a case of uninstalling Actinic 10 and reinstalling a 10.0.1 ?

Would the snapshot I have from the 10.0.3 import into a 10.0.1 ?

My understanding, and I stand corrected by anyone who knows better, is that 'normally', and I say that reservedly, you can import a snapshot from one point release into another sibling point release. So 10.0.1 could go to 10.0.3 and visa versa but 10.0.1 could not go to 10.1.3 for example as this is not considered a point increment.

            Cheers for the info Drounding

I would rather get it fixed such that I can have 4 States in the UK Country.

If it proves that this is not possible in 10.0.3, then I will try the rolling back to 10.0.1

10.0.2 seems to be OK - I just added 5 states to the UK in a default store in the Locations.
Have you tried it on a default 10.0.3 store?

Just switched sites to the Default Store - Changed the default North and South to:-
                England
                Scotland
                Wales
                Conwy

                Saved

Closed Actinic - re-opened it - and they were still there

                So, this is good.

But it means that there is something wrong with the database for the store I am working on where it wont save a fourth State??

I have tried the compacting of databases already - to no avail.

How can I fix the database that this store is using?

                  OK - I closed Actinic.

I opened up the database in Access, and manually added Conwy to the States.

                  Saved and closed.

Opened up Actinic again and Conwy was there

Closed Actinic - Re opened Actinic - It was gone

So, there is something in Actinic, when it closes, that is forcibly removing this State (rather than not saving it to the database in the first place)

Am I missing something stupid here and not associating the State with something else somewhere else that renders it null and therefore removes it when Actinic closes ??

OK - downgraded to 10.0.1 and having the same issue.

I add in Conwy as a fourth State in my UK country.

When I go to Business settings, I have to add Conwy back into the Tax section.

But I dont have to Add Conwy to my Free Shipping Zone - it is still saved there.

Do an upload etc and all works fine.

Close down Actinic - re-open it and the Conwy State is gone.

It must be some error in the database, that is set to remove this State when Actinic closes.

As this is not happening with other Sites using the same Actinic.

Where should I start looking in the database? I have already tried adding the State manually, this works, but then Actinic removes it again when it closes.

When I open up the States Table in Access I notice that there is a field on the end called nID. This is set as follows

                      England 1
                      Scotland 2
                      Wales 130

                      Why 130?

And when I manually add in Conwy as the fourth, it automatically assigns this 131

This is not a field I can change....

                      Just in case that helps..

It seems like you have a rather odd problem. I think you're going to have to raise a support ticket with Actinic and get the database to them to sort it out for you.

Hmmm - looking in the database, I see products there that have long since been removed and purged. Why are they still there?

Looking like a corrupt database in some way??

                          How does one fix it?

It this a case of getting onto Actinic?

Snapshot with Actinic now, so hope they can sort it out - they seem to think it is a corrupt database.
