Marketing/ also bought list

Hello, just wondering if the 'also bought' list can be used just for specific products or is it a global change to the site? Had a muck around with it and noticed it appeared to generate lists site wide whereas I'd only want to apply it to certain products using the mini also bought layout.

We have had some changes made to the layout and I'm trying to work out a way to duplicate certain products using the single product per page layout so the recently viewed products works. If I wanted to paste a product as a duplicate surely this would mean I'd have to have another image with a unique name to use as a thumbnail for the duplicate sub-section? And if I do it that way will the duplicate products still be able to be updated from the product details view?

The marketing tab against each product allows you to tun off the product in the various marketing lists. If you are using cut down product layouts your can also remove the lists from the layout permanently by deleting the code.

Product duplicates tend to work from the main product image - the whole idea of duplicates is that if you change the master they roll out against all the other duplicate products. You can switch what is updated against each of the duplicates when the master is changed but it is often best to leave as default so you don't change the master and then have to go hunting the dupes.

Thanks for the reply, it appears in all the products on site now that the 'also bought' is ticked in the marketing but it's greyed out and unticking makes no difference?
