Database failed-no current record

V10, Windows 7.
Importing a hierarchical file we have created from a external data source using Hierarchical File Converter
after import get the error
Compact the database and all OK till the next time.
File looks OK to naked eye but I guess something wrong, any clues on what to look for would be great.

just rec. a new copy of raw import data to test again. It is strange as it fails on 1st attempt then just re do it immediately form same file and it works.
Maybe something will come to light now I have a new copy of the latest data.
