    File Name Conflicts

I've just move to Actinic 10 and have found that the images all need to be in the Site folder so I am going through and amended my web pages and fragments. However, when I go to upload I get the following message:-

Some filenames conflict. All files being sent to the web site must have unique names. Please check the list of files in Design | Additional Files.

Some of the following files must be renamed before an upload can occur. Once the files are renamed, reselect them in the Actinic.

    C:\internet\apache\leisurebuildings\acatalog\images\humber\super-apex-garden-shed-small.jpg
    C:\internet\apache\Actinic-v10-sites\1stChoiceLeisureBuil\images\humber\super-apex-garden-shed-small.jpg

I'm having great trouble in tracking down where the conflicts are. I'm going through each page and fragment to see where the conflict may be, but I have 1500 pages.

Is there an easier way to locate where the offending images are? Thanks.

Try Start Menu | Search ? You can then delete or rename from the results screen.

      Or a file-export with a ctrl-f in excel.

I'm probably being dense but where would I find the Start Menu and then Search. Is it in Content or Design section ?

DENSE? Are you using Microsoft Windows? Is your computer plugged in?

Ahem. In the bottom left hand corner of your computer monitor (that's the big square thing in front of you) you will see a small green block with 'start' on it. Click that and a box pops up.

Two up on the right you will see a Magnifying Glass (duh, like Sherlock Holmes) and the word 'Search'. Now click that and follow the instructions.

Sorry mate but it's been a long day (and a couple of jars).

You mean I need the computer on ?? What a plank I am.

No, I was thinking it was part of the Actinic Program. I will give that a go, thanks. Robin

Actually, no - may have had the wrong end of the stick - many apologies due, misundertood. Lee's answer more helpful.

The message tells you WHERE the images are - you want to know where (in Actinic) you have referenced them.

Not so easy - do the file names give you any clue as to the related product(s)?

                  Nice double facepalm!

You have just reminded me though that I was going to write a little addon program just for this purpose.
I can't remember how many times I've been searching through the database tables (products, productproperties, catalog section, filelist) hunting down references to image conflicts.

If Actinic have any better ideas as to how to track this down over an above the ones listed here, or even better if they are releasing some better error reporting in V11 (e.g. actually telling you/linking you to the product/section image fields in question) then let me know otherwise I'll just have to finish writing and release this addon.

Hi Fergus - please just go on and do it!
I'll buy a copy now if it helps
                    Kind Regards

And me. I can't believe it's not included already as Actinic extracts the information to tell you there are conflicts. It must have a record of the conflicting pages to do this.
                      Regards,
