Question About Column Count For Section List

I currently have my 'column count for section lists' set to 2.

On certain sections I would like this to be set to 1:

This is so I can have a rectangular picture which spans about the width of the page.

Is this a complicated task to achieve?

This should be very easy to achieve, you just need to set the column count to 2 as the default (so in the top level) and then on the sections that you want to have one, just set it to one - the default value is to use the parent settings.
