Have I set something up incorrectly ?

I have two sites, that have almost an identical product base, so....I created one site with Actinic and then took a 'site snapshot' and imported the 'site snapshot' to the other Actinic site and then tweeked the second site accordingly.

But....when I use the 'find request' for an order on one of the sites, the search query (i.e. the surname or whatever) seems to be retained when I log into my other site ??

Plus I have had a couple of strange things happen that is making me concerned that I set the new site up correctly (i.e. that they may possibly be sharing some data that they shouldn't be ??)

When I imported the snapshot and was presented with the options I chose to 'Overwrite in Target Installation' ...all orders AND all contents.

I then manually deleted the orders in the new site - Was this ok to do ? or should I have just chosen 'All Contents' ??

Compact the two site databases and see if that resolves the retention issues. What you have done should be fine.

Which version of Actinic are you using? Catalog? Business?

Thanks drounding...I have compacted the two databases and it sill retains the search request....the result is obviously not retained as the order doesn't exist on the other site but the searched for name is still there !

I have also 'purged' the 'orders' and 'content' , but that hasn't made a difference either.

Hi guccij - I am using V10 Business.

I at least feel a little reassured that you think the choices I made for the import were ok! - Glad you think it shouldn't be a problem

Did you delete all the old orders and customer files when you opened up the 2nd shop using the first shop snapshot?

If not they may have the URL going back to the first database

To manage more than one site you need Business Plus

Duh ! - guccij - I have business plus! - I just called it the 'business' version to give details as to what the structure of the software was.

I thought you were offering help with regard to the problem not acting as the 'Actinic Police' for which version I should be running to have mutliple sites.

I would assume guccij mentioned about Business Plus in case that where the problem COULD have been.

What an unpleasant and ignorant response. Last time I help you. "Actinic police", I ask you. Who do you think we are, your personal problem solvers?

To the others, yes you are of course right, I was indeed offering a possible solution as Business Plus is very different from Business. What a pity the OP didn't make that clear. None of us are mind readers.

Jade. Bad reply to one of the Community's most helpful members.

I see that I helped you several times and even wrote some custom code for you. Won't be doing either of those again.

I conceed and apologise - I was having a really bad, bad day! - Not just an Actinic Bad Day, it was a personal Bad Bad Day (for many reasons not appropriate to go into on this forum), and hence I had clouded judgement which meant I misconstrued guccij comments and replied inappropriately.

I hope you can forgive me

I really do appreciate all the help that many people go to the trouble of giving and hope that I can one day help someone with an Actinic problem that I have the answer to.

In the meantime I send my personal and heartfelt apologies to guccij.
