I use CR with Win 7 Pro and with UAC on without problems. CR runs with a 'shield' against it but I don't have the permissions issues you are seeing. Do you have different users on Win 7? Was CR installed when you were logged in as Administrator?

Yes - Win 7 pro here too, and yes, it runs with a shield against it.
Pretty sure I installed it as an admin - not so sure you can install progs in Win7 if your not an admin.
The CR program runs fine, and the report is fine if I run it by opening from CR.
I'm just trying to re-create the working practices we had in Act 5.
The report I created for Act5 (and now updated for Act10), I used to run from my desktop by double-clicking the report, rather than running CR first.
Its a report to extract names and addresses for orders, where orders lines not yet shipped, which I then export to a text file, and mail merge into Word, to produce mailing labels. As its an export thing, rather than a printed report, its not suitable to run from the Act10 reports menu.
I do realize that Act 10 has a label generator, but have not spent enough time looking at it yet - not sure it does the exact trick I want.
I can run it fine by running CR, then opening the report. I'm just being stubborn in that I want it to run as it did before. Plus I hate leaving things when they 'should' run in a certain way ie. I should be able to run a report by double-clicking it!
