    One of those days

    Hello Everyone,

I am having a bit of a nightmare this morning. I had to suspend ordering on one of my sites a while ago as the prices all needed to change, prices have been updated and I have clicked ordering to be back online and for some reason my add to cart button is missing?

I have looked and its still all there, ordering is ticked as allowed so Im out of ideas? For some reason when I click on products the "can be ordered online" option isnt tick but there is no way I would have gone through all my products and unticked it but when I tick this it solves the problem.

What have I done and is there a better way to fix it other than going through every product?

    Thanks

Double check that under Business Settings - ordering, you have online ordering TICKED AND suspended is UNTICKED
I'm guessing you may have accidentally unticked the ALLOWED box

If the above doesn't help then...

Use at your own risk - Backup your database!

Download the attached file and change the extension from .txt to .vbs. Double click on the file and browse to your database and click OK.

That will set all instances of the Can Be Ordered Online to 1.

        Hello Martin,

Thanks for replying, I have double and triple checked it. "Allowed" is ticked and "Suspended" is not. I had some products hidden on website before I upgraded to 10.0.3 and they all have the Cart button and the "can be ordered online" option is ticked. Could importing my site from 10.0.2 into 10.0.3 while ordering was suspended make all my products that were active have this option unticked?

Thats the extent of my wisdom I'm afraid - maybe give Duncans solution a go - good luck

If you do need to reset all flags, I doubt you need to trawl through product by product.
If you export the product list, you will probably find that there is a separate field for this flag, which can easily be edited using search and replace in excel.
Can't tell for sure without looking myself, but will take a look later in the day when I have a mo, and let you know if I can find the specific field, unless anyone else gets there first.

The vbs file I attached should set all the fags to 1 - I'm surprised it's not doing so - I tested it yesterday for another similar post.

Failing that, if your comfortable messing around with the product database, and are handy with excel, you can reset the flags en masse

                  snapshot to protect work

                  file - export - catalog

export to a csv and open in excel

column H (line 3) is the can be ordered online flag

                  0=no
                  1=yes

delete all the columns to the right of H
                  delete columns D-G

leave the other columns in place - they are needed to ID the products
leave rows 1-19 where they are, and sort all the rest of the rows (row 20 onwards, on column A)

This will group all your product lines together

Delete all non-product lines (all the ones that don't say 'product' in col A, and remember, do not delete rows 1-19)

now you can change all the 'can be ordered online' flags to '1' (simply copy and paste)

you can do more sophisticated sorting and setting if want to take time to look at the product layout a bit more thoroughly

Save as type csv (give a new name - I add 'import' to the end of my exported name)

import back into actinic (take care to navigate to the exact same file that you just saved). select 'update records' when importing

all the above may well be what Duncans code does for you automatically.

                  and remember, remember, remember
                  SNAPSHOT BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING

once you have imported/exported a few times, its not nearly as scarey as it seems, and can save loads of repetitive work.
be aware that before you mess around with non-product lines (sections etc), you should read up on hierachal export/import.

Simple, but are there products in stock?

I have fixed the problem, I went into the database and ticked "can be ordered online" on every product.

Something must have gone wrong when I updated from 10.0.2 to 10.0.3 with ordering being suspended on import.

                      Thanks for all your help

I am fairly sure that you're not the first person to report this?
                        It definitely sounds familiar!

From memory if you suspend then change something in the product it remains unchecked even when the global allowed is checked, happened to me on a couple of price list changes - now I do them without suspending!

For what it's worth - I had this problem too - I had to go through every item manually and tick them - strangely though some items had remained ticked
