    Home page - default

    v 10

Hi Guys I've just upgraded from 8.5.3 to 10, and it has gone very well. Not quite glitch free but surprisingly smoothly - well done Actinic.

I do however have an annoyance which someone may help me with.

The catalogue is all in the default - acatalog directory.

Everything is standard, and I have my home page in Design Options set up as a url. Ie http://www.gpzzone.co.uk/ - this is a portal. (Nb this is outside of the acatalog directory)

BUT...........For some reason, that I can't get my head around, Actinic keeps overwriting my index (home/portal) page in the public directory, why is it changing files outside the acatalog directory?

I am very keen to resolve this, as my public facing home page (Portal) is #1 on Google, and I don't want to risk losing this ranking.

I've clearly ticked the wrong box, but which one is it?

    Thanks in advance.

Fabulous response Tracey - Thank you.

It is I fear a little more complex. I'll dig around and respond - there is no doubt that this is the culprit, but I have renamed the "Home" page in Actinic, and it is still definitely installing itself into the public directory.

I'm actually beginning to wonder if I'm better leaving it alone, I'll consider the Google implications a little deeper throughout the day.

Thank you again for a very prompt response.

Check for an extraneous "index.html" file in your Site folder. Delete it if found.
