    Publish Current Page

I have found a price to be incorrect on my site, so have amended it and done a "publish current page" however. the price still appears as incorrect. If I do a complete Web upload it sorts the problem out, but defeats the object. I have a few plug-ins which I suspect may be contributing to the problem, e.g, Ajax add to cart and SPP from Codepath.

    Any experience or ideas welcome.

I have only tried update current page a couple of times, and it didn't work for me either. I assumed I was doing something wrong, but had so many other things to deal with, I just left it, to return and look at some other time.
Anyone know if this feature actually works, and are there any tips?

Nope I also find this feature useless - the fact it still goes through all the "site checking" that takes FOREVER on a large site makes this a really pointless "feature". Actinic need to seriously looking at ways to quickly upload small changes without all the delays.

Strange one, i'd completely disagree, i use this regularly and it's a very quick way of doing certain things. The bigger the site, the more time this saves for me. First time you use it on a section it does do a lengthy check, second time it is much quicker. If i have changed the css or want to send a file online such as a PDF or image, i often choose any random section, publish it and the file(s) are added as part of that process (as an extra unadvertised advantage). If i ever do some real time design too with customer on the phone, i always use this feature, even more so if their site is a big and the checking process takes forever.

I do however agree that despite all the multi threading and compaction, the checking process is woefully slow and something they simply have to improve.

Thats the rub. I had assumed that the idea behind this feature was not to go through all the checking, and just upload the page specified. Whats the point in saying "you only need to upload this one page", if the progs then going to go through and check everything?

It doesn't check everything in my experience, only the items relative to the upload and it does a sanity check to make sure something catastrophic is not being sent online which could bork the site. First time you use it, does seem to take a while, subsequent uses are much much faster in my experience.

I set up 5 products in a section and uploaded the section.
The Vat setting was completely ignored causing us much embarrassment.
If I make any amendments to any product I have to refresh the whole site to make sure the two vat rates on some kids garments calculates correctly.

It takes up to two hours to upload the site on a cable connection.
              Clothing to make an impression.

That needs reporting as a bug if it's true for everybody.

Lee, it would be interesting for you to amend the price on one product and upload that page to see if it actually changes.
I suspected that it may have been a cached page on IE, so I deleted all browsing history but it made no difference.
I now suspect that the feature either doesn't work properly, or one of my plugins is causing it.
If your upload works correctly, then it must be a plugin and I will just have to live with it.
