SSL & Live Chat?

I don't know if this should be here, or on server stuff...............

Anyway, I'm considering adding LiveZilla live chat to my site as it seems to do what I want it to. The only thing that concerns me is that it recommends "use only HTTPS/SSL for all connections". I don't have & don't want either & reading through some of the posts regarding LiveZilla nobody has mentioned SSL?

Should I heed this recommendation? (My hosting is with VI if it makes any difference)

Martin, I've installed LiveZilla on an Actinic site that's hosted on VI without SSL and it worked fine.
I think it is recommend if you're to talk about sensitive information that could be intercepted and used for malicious purposes.
