Cant Select Layout

Hi,

All morning I have been making changes to my design by using the following method: -

• Duplicate a particular layout
• Make changes to the new layout
• Ensure new layout is in the appropriate selector.
• Select my new layout from where the selector is set in Actinic.

I have spent the last hour or so trying to do the same thing on a particular layout and whilst I can duplicate it and make my changes I can’t for the life of me see how to select it into my design.

In the attached screen shot the Outer Layout for the Silver Theme has a Silver Best Sellers layout inserted in it. This appears to use the Best Seller List Side Bar selector but when I go into that selector both the original and my copy template are not layouts offered by this selector.

How then has the original been inserted and how would I substitute this for my layout?

I realise that I’m missing a pretty fundamental concept with this issue, I also understand the easy way out would be to just change the original layout but I really would like to understand what’s going on here.

Double-click the Selector and one of the tabs let's you move your layout from the "available" list to the "used by" list.

Thanks for your help.

I understand what you’re saying and it’s exactly that which I have done all morning without problem but in this case something else is going on.

If you look at the image attached the Selector does not have the original layout on the used side but both the new and the original can be seen on the available but not used side. The design tree indicates that it was this selector that was used however.

Also if you look at the image the "Outer Layout for the Silver Theme" has the "Silver best Seller List" in it but I can’t even work out how this was inserted.

I have just spotted that the layout in question forms part of the selector description in brackets, I have gone back to the manuals and I can see reference to this.

Nothing seems wrong there.

You have 11 layouts. On your new screenshot I see 8 on the Available list and 3 in the Offered list. Your "... Text Change WS" one is on the bottom left. Highlight it and you should be able to move it to Offered.
