Using description in section to search

My colleague and I are new to Actinic, we have got our existing products imported in to actinic and we have a section per product.

Does anyone know if the search facility does/can search on the description in the section area, it doesn't appear to be working if it does.

If it doesn't use that field by default is there any way of making it search on that field?

Search settings in the 'settings' menu will show you the possibilities.
