Duplicate product layout not changing

I have an issue with borked layouts on some products. When seemingly ad-hoc products are duplicated elsewhere they retain the original layout despite being set at both section, product levels and even hard coding the product layout into a new layout list.

Deleting and re-creating the product resolves the issue but there are circa 100 products across different sections from about 2000 products in total affected and don't fancy having to rebuild them.

Any ideas most welcomed.

I get this a lot on fragments, its an upgrade bug as far as i know. I change the layout manually to an alternate, apply and then change back to use parent and that seems to refresh the settings. Very frustrating at times.

We sometimes untick/apply/tick the layout selector from displaying at product and section level, thereby removing the allocation of the layout against the products and sections and forcing them to be recreated.
It resets all layout selectors, therefore hard-coded ones would be overwritten, but it does work.

Thanks guys - already tried those and they still show incorrectly. I may have to delete all the available layouts bar 1 and see how that works.

Strange thing is that the in-Actinic and external browser preview are perfect - when it is published to the server it is here that it becomes borked
