    Discount structure issue!

The site I am working on now has a section for tools for hire, the idea is that the additional day hire price is 73% less than the initial price + first day hire.

I have tried putting a 73% discount on additional quantities of said tool, but all that does is knock off 73% off only one of the additional "days"..

Help would be very much appreciated!

I'd suggest you rename the quantity field to say 'how many days would you like to hire for?' perhaps even convert that to a drop down list as per the AUG or KB articles. You can then apply a discount based on what is effectively the number of 'day hires' someone has purchased or perhaps better still, you can use quantity based pricing which will relay to the users the prices for set number of days of hire, you need Business version to do price breaks, details are in the inbuilt help if you have it.

Nothing to stop you having permutations also where the user makes a choice ie set numnber of days and you have your own prices in against those choices.

Using quantities will be very problematical as the customer might want to hire more than one of the same tool.

I'd go with Lee's final suggestion of having a Permutations with drop-down for the number of days and Choice dependent pricing.
