    Products and sections dissapeared

    Afternoon

    We have Catalog 10.0.4 LDZA

I just tried to add a new sub section into a section that already had 6 sub sections and received an 'out of memory' error, the pc didnt stop responding or appear to go slow and when clicking ok, 3 out of the 6 sub sections have dissapeared along with their products and the new sub section is there.

Has anyone experienced this or can advise how to get the products and sub sections back?

usually products and section disappear during "drag and drop"

As for getting them back, revert to your latest snapshot.
    Not magic cure beyond that.

as an aside, have you tried a search, within your catalog tree (Edit > Find or Ctrl F) to check they haven't ended up elsewhere in the catalog?

Thanks for replying Tracy, yes tried a search for the products and havent dagged and dropped them else where.

Unfortunatly i have a snapshot from wednesday evening but that will make all our stock figures incorrect so prob going to keep the existing active with the missing products, do a site refresh to update the website so thats in sync then manually add them back in.

Ironically i was asked if i would like to upgrade to 11 with cover recently and also told about the online version, so i done a trial of the online and decided to stick with upgrading to 11, called in to see if i could get the upgrade with support and the price has gone up from what i was quoted which was an offer to existing customers to upgrade which has now expired whilst i was doing the online trial.

That phone call left a bad taste in my mouth and If thats what you get from being a long term customer then im now looking at alternative e-commerce products.

I'm sure I read on the forum that you can Copy and Paste products & sections between sites.

So first make a backup in case it all goes wrong. Then license a new site, import the previous snapshot into the new site, copy the missing section, switch to your main site and then paste in the section.

hmm that would have been ideal if i had a different key, i tried entering in my existing key and wouldnt allow it. Im half way through adding the lost products in so shouldnt be much longer.

I can see why Actinic are pushing people to go cloud based

Try with a blank key. I think you'll get a 30 day trial license (or does that not allow snapshot imports?)
