Website not ranking due to lack of text

I have created a very small website which basically shows some images on each page and a few lines of text on each page too.

However: The text has been created in photoshop & then uploaded as a fragment image... 'so search engines won't be able to crawl the text'

I still would like to upload the text as an image but also want the webpage to rank on google etc.

Is there a way of including the text as the same colour as the background so it is hidden but so that the search engines can still crawl the site?

    or an alternative option.

    thanks

Yes, you can do this. But then your site will be banned by the search engines for using hidden text.

The only real solution is to use real text.

Why do you want to upload the text as an image James?

Basically because I think the text looks too small & plain using the other method.

It's always possible to change font in use (within the bounds of "web safe" fonts) and the font size either in the General tab in site settings, or by using CSS, much much better than using images to replace text.
Any sort of "hidden" text, or text in the page that gets pushed out of view as far as your visitors are cocerned using text colour matching the background colour, or things like margin-right: 9000px; are a big no-no if you don't want Google de-listing you in the search results.

            1. Use an image for text = no google listing
            2. Use an image for text + adwords = google adwords listing
            3. Use hidden text = no google listing
            4. Use plain text = chance of a google listing

James ... as has been said don't do it, its not worth the hassle.

Use css to style your text and if you really must use @font-face or cufon to style the text in a given font of your dreams ... I suggest a rethink of your strategy though as it sounds like if you are just using images your pages will also take forever to download and pagespeed is also becoming part of ranking
