Why is there a limit on the amount of orders I can export in a batch?

Its very annoying.

I export my orders to reconcile them, and in busy periods like this christmas, I have to export one weeks orders in 3 or 4 batches and then re-complile them together again.. time consuming and a bit silly that I cant export a week of orders together.

After searching the forum I can see this has annoyed lots of people.
Why on earth is there a limit to the amount of orders you can export in one go?

How is a busy shop supposed to do their sales reconciliation?

I see there are add-on programs that can do this for an extra price.. So its not a technical problem...
