Flat File importing Sections ONLY

Hi All,

I have had a look on the community for a solution but I can't seem to find one.

I want to Flat File import and update my Sections + Subsections.

I don't want to change the products or the ordering of my sections.

The data I would like to update is the Section Meta Descriptions and Section Page Titles.

The "index column" which is the same is the Section Name and Section HTML.

Is there ANY way I can get Actinic to bulk upload all of these? I am currently having issues as Actinic seems to only match against the product codes, however my section list (about 700) doesn't have the products in. I would rather not rebuild the whole thing! After the import everything is moved around or not updated.

My .csv file has the fields "Section Name" "Section HTML" "Section Title" and "Section Meta Description"

I think flat files are just for adding products, so you will need to switch to working on hierarchical export instead. Available from the file menu, details in the inbuilt help and examples in your program Files folder.

I assume I couldn't get around just doing the sections and I would have to re-build everything into a complete new hierarchical .csv file with products/fragments/sections etc?

You can cteate just the sections in an hierarchical file.
Just add the Section Header and the Sections and their Ends. You can leave everything else out.

My website is already built with categories and products and has sub categories. Wouldn't doing it this way re-order and dump all the sections and subsections into a flat none ordered list of sections?

Or would I have to do it like:

Section | Cookware
Product | Pan
Section | Bathroom
Product | Towel
Section | Living Room
Product | Chair
End
End
End

Instead of:

Section | Cookware
Product | Pan
End
Section | Bathroom
Product | Towel
End
Section | Living Room
Product | Chair
End

If you only want to update some fields then export th ecatalog, make the change and import it back as an update.
