Delivery charge to show up before customer enters details

Basically we would like to have the delivery charge visible from the first checkout page, if not the shopping cart - happypuzzle.co.uk is a good example of this being put into action!

A solution would be very much appreciated!

How would Actuinic know the delivery cost before the address is entered?

If it's a fixed charge then you could place the charge in the sidebar and at the top of the cart and checkout pages.

Our shipping is in categories, like wood flooring, lacquers etc, it will automatically select the highest delivery charge depending on what is ordered, and since we only deliver in the UK those prices are fixed - I'm sure there's a way of doing it I just haven't figured it out yet!

Well, I have enquired with the creator of happypuzzle.co.uk - so fingers crossed they have the solution! Where there's a will there's a way!

It looks to me as if Happypuzzle aren't using Actinic so not sure what help they'll be.

I'm sure we've discussed this kind of thing before in the forum. To make it work you'll probably need to employ Norman (or someone equally au-fait with Actinic's scripts) for some help as the way I see it working would be to modify the scripts so that correct shipping charge is added to the session cookie (and maybe also the cart summary cookie) when a product is added to the cart.

You're right, it doesn't appear to be, however Teclan have listed it here as an actinic site, so it was worth the ask! If they don't give me the answer I need then Norman it is!
