    Discount on total order when particular product purchased

    My client wants to offer a discount on total order when a particular product is purchased BUT only if customer purchases something else as well. I've put a trigger of 1p more than cost of single product but Actinic interprets this as customer must buy more than one of the particular product (rather than customer must just buy something else from entire shop). We're using Business Plus v10.
    Any suggestions??

    Create a product group "all" with all products except the chosen one.

    In discounts set up a cart level discount ;

    Based on == quantity
    trigger == 1
    product group == all

    reward type == % off extra product
    reward amount == enter your discount
    product radio checked
    select the chosen product from the list

    That seems about faced but if they add to the chosen product to the cart no discount is applied - if they then add another product the discount will kick in on the offer product already added to the cart. If they initially add the non offer product to the cart a note will appear and a link saying they will get n% off the chosen product with a link to go and add.

    That's the theory anyway - not tested just thinking our loud

      Thanks Jonty - this does make sense. However, we have quite a few different offers/product groups - and over 1,000 products - so as a product can only be in one group, it wouldn't be practical for us. Client has now compromised with offering discount on two or more of the same product.

        The discount functions in Actinic have never quite worked the same way as they do on the high street which is a real shame, especially for users that also run B&M stores as well.
