Duplicate Digital Downloads being created

I have searched this and found similar but no solution

I have no digital downloads. I did have a couple in the past. However everytime I publish to the web a digital download duplicate of a PDF gets created. I discovered this yeaterday when I saw thousands of them in the DD folder on the site. Having deleted them all, I find they are coming back as I publish other changes.

How do I stop this happening if they are not in my desktop catalog?

UPDATE sorry everyone I found how to stop it

Almost too embarrassed to say

I found the related product and removed the file name from the box in the Digital Downloads part of the product details.

It puzzles me why leaving it in creates duplicates, seems an odd way for the package to work. I didn’t realise you were only supposed to enter the files once and then take them out.

Every publish to the web I have been doing for months has been making a duplicate.
