This is really annoying! Any ideas why this happens?

Is there no workaround?, it seems a bit ridiculous that the software can't cope with such a simple task?

It also means going through the whole site manually changing fragments to text only every time I want to upload which takes forever....

Have you tried (if feasible) to set the parent section to be text only and then import as parent.. Presumably this only happens when you import new products (?), you don't need to import that field if it's not changing.

Apologies for the inconvenience, there is no workaround at the moment . Meanwhile I have tried Duncan's suggestion and it seems to work well, provided it is feasible in your scenario.
