Hi all,

on occasion i am getting a zip file download instead of a home page.

the file is goog1e_install_.exe

is it local or on the server? how can i check?

is there a virus checker i can run on the ftp?

this kind of thing usually hides in the htaccess file. ftp into your site and look for a file called .htaccess, rename it to htaccess.txt (or whatever you want) and then ftp it to your pc and open in a text editor.

If you see anything you don't recognise then it's a sign you've probably been hacked.

In which case change your passwords, replace the htaccess file and remove the dodgy files that the .htaccess is redirecting to. They're usually in a separate sub dictory.
