Counts Down to Free Shipping - is it worthwhile?

With the introduction of the new royal mail prices and other rising costs i have had to restructure my shipping prices.

I previously offered free p&p on all orders (£10 minimum spend) I now want to charge postage on orders below £15 (still £10 minimum spend).

To encourage people to spend more and secure free postage I am considering using the "Message that Counts down to free shipping" as described in the AUG.

I have read different threads which are quite old regarding this, does anyone have any recent comments or problems.


I am not technical but good at copy & paste, so perhaps its possible for me to try ,

but which scripts would I have to change/included the html .

I think most people these days expect to be charged for shipping with maybe the exception of Ebay and Amazon, though i never go to Amazon so just presumming which coul well be the wrong thing to do

The shipping charge does not have to be the real value especially on low cost items and even £1.99 add up to quite a bit more profit over the year
