    Checkout Missing template

    Hi,

We have done some updates to our companies web site and now have a problem in that the checkout page is unformatted and mssing the styling.

i have tried refreshing the site etc but can not see what has happened.

Has anyone ever seen this before and no of any solution.

    Here is the site www.calmproductions.com

    Thanks

    Glen

We have tried pointing the SSL catalog folder to the main catalog and worked a bit but has now gone back to displaying no syle.

Our webhost is looking into the symbolic link.

Just a question, would previewing the site cause this to happen as it just went like this after we did product updates.

It has been fine for a cpl of years so it seems strange to just stop working. Does anyone know of reasons why this could have happened?

    Thanks

You don't need SSL on the checkout as you are not capturing anything that is confidential. Turn it off under Settings > Business Settings > Payment & Security ... all the encryption will be handled by your PSP

Have unchecked the SSl as suggested but now all transactions go through the site with out a HTTPS in the URL.

Can you suggest another way without doing this?

        Thanks.

You need, to get yourself a PSP.

Capturing credit card details on your own site has been pretty much banned by the card providers unless you undergo very strict security vetting to ensure the details can't be hacked. The vetting includes your website and your own computers and meeting these requirements is hard to achieve and costly to verify.

You don't need SSL with a PSP. Having SSL doesn't remove the need to get a psp.

Just to reiterate Mike's point. You should not be selling online by capturing card details and processing them yourself.

Customers are much more clued up about non-secure websites these days as the major browsers and a lots of internet security software will flag up insecure pages where credit card details are being input.

I would imagine that your sales will fall off a cliff if you don't move to a PSP quickly. PayPal Website Payments would be a good stopgap for you until you get another one sorted. Then you can offer both. Customers love PayPal.
