General Script Error prompt.fil - stuck!

I've been unfortunate to experience the General Script Error prompt.fil. No such file or directory
having trawled through the many posts I've
    double checked file permissions
    I've performed a website purge & refresh,
    checked network settings,
checked no updates have been made on the server(unix heart internet- shared)
incremented the script id - refreshed
    ran the V10 install(same version)
    performed a website refresh
deleted the contents of the filelist table in the db
    refreshed

all to no avail, looking in the server /catalog directory several of the .fil and cat files seemed to be missing and frustratingly I can't seem to force a complete upload of all files.
There's no error with the upload either.

It's been happily running for sometime, the only flag I had was suddenly no orders!

The last refresh just completed and I'm no wiser(approx 5000 products so it takes a while) the .cat files are there but not prompt.fil

    suggestions most welcome!.

it's on a win7 install all the files in the C:\ProgramData\Actinic v10\Site1 are showing the latest time attempt and prompt.fil is there...

Not sure if relevant but you have FTPHOST 79.170.44.14 and www.earthly-gems.co.uk pings as being on 79.170.40.53.

Also, have you done some tweaking to replace acatalog with crystalhealing?

Hi Norman, heart internet have a separate ip for ftp, I'm open to try anything at the moment(ftp.earthly-gems.co.uk is the alternative etc), yes I changed the dir from the infamous acatalog a couple of months ago, we normally upload products most days so a little foxed to what could've happened, unless an issue uploading caused a problem(BB isn't the fastest).

Just for anyone else with spurious upload errors check the IE11 issue that was the cause of our woes!
