Mega Menu

Does anyone know how to get the Mega menu feature working?
I have checked the box that says 'use mega menu' but beyond that I am stumped!

The Mega Menu is only available in the newer themes within Actinic V11 BETA: Academic and Fresh, I believe.

Spotted this in the Beta Guide

"At the moment this is only supported by two new Outer Layouts, Academic and Fresh; but
more will be added in future releases. It can be dropped into any custom design just by
inserting the ‘ActinicMegaMenu’ layout selector."

Has anybody come acrosa an issue when a new product is added it does not display in the mega menu??

i am just using the evaluate V11 at the minute with a site imported to see how it works...

Not come across this issue, however I (and the forum community) would love to hear what it was and how you fixed it in a little more detail to help and future users with a similar issue.

Mega Menu

To be Honest I think it was me wanting the menu to do more than it could, i was hoping it would display the individual products under the specific sections but it only goes to the third layer e.g.

I have Surveying & Engineering > Automatic Levels > na700 Series

So it would not then display the fourth layer that would be the product itself...

Hope this makes sense

It does make sense.
Currently it shows:

whilst you would want it to show
| Top level Section |
| Sub Section |
| Sub sub section|

| Sub sub sub section|
| Sub sub section|
| Sub sub sub section|
| Sub sub sub section|
| Sub sub section|

Personally, without some very clear layouts, this could become confusing and busy for the end user on the screen.
A possibility though!

Is there anyway to get Megamenu, or recent orders working in a V10 upgraded Silver Theme?

I dont really want to change theme, just include the new features into the existing theme which has been upgraded from V10 to V11.

As RobMob indicated, dropping the variable into the layout where you want the MegaMenu will appear should suffice.

<Actinic:Variable Name="ActinicMegaMenu"/>

You may have to play about with its positioning so backup before proceeding.

I had indeed tried this but it doesn't seem to work.

Just wondered if it was me implementing incorrectly, or if it just isn't possible to intergrate into Silver Theme.

Hi there,
I had a similar problem with implementing a mega menu from an actinic v10 upgrade.

- I added the variable MegaMenu Layout into my design
- I copied the navigation bar and dropdown css styles from the fresh css into my own actinic css stylesheet.

Everything was right but I was still gettting a javascript error.

It turned out that the site was still using 3 old js files.
- recentproductsupport.js
- actiniccore.js
- actinicextras.js

If you have multisite then set up a new test site and copy the files from there into your own site folder. If its single user site then you should be able to get actinic tech support to send you these files. Once you overwrite these then you mega menu should work.
