Copyright

Just a thought, but shouldn't the default copyright message layout read
Code:
© <actinic:block php="true" >echo date('Y');</actinic:block> <actinic:variable name="CompanyName" />
instead of
Code:
© 2011 <actinic:variable name="CompanyName" />
? I'd have thought Actinic would know better than to hard-code!

I noticed that on ugrading to v11 last week. Good job I had not done it last year or I would not have seen the 'hard coded' year.
Have now added your code, hope you don't mind.
Thanks for seeing the problem and posting a solution.
I note that the latest version v11.02 has not addressed this.

Not sure that suggestion's right either.

The copyright date should be date that the content was first created. The point of doing this is to show that you created it before someone who copied it. If you put 2012 on all your pages then you're actually defeating the purpose.

Probably correct in that.
Perhaps a combination of the two codes so that it would show as © 2011-2012 (Company name.)
That way the current year would always update.

Ammended code now reads:

Thanks for the suggestion, I will add that to our wish list and try to get it implemented soon. It makes sense and is very simple to do.

Any praise should go to tigmb86, who posted the original code.
