Missing Images

Hi, We have just bought V11 so are trying to convert our smallest site first from V8. We took a snapshot and loaded this into V11 but all images seem to be missing. In v8 our images are in a folder SiteHTML/images but we do not have one of these in V11.

Should we have copied this folder over first?

It's worth Checking your images aren't in the site1 folder in your Actinic V11 folder in my documents.

What path is showing for your images in V11?

an example is SiteHTML\images\8910-0s.jpg

I've searched the Actinic v11 folder and this image is definately not there

I could copy the v8 folder into v11 but surely we should not have to do this?

You will find SiteHTML here now: C:\ProgramData\Actinic v11\Site1\SiteHTML

I think you will either have to move your images and then change the paths in Actinic or create the folder in the similar path as previous versions.

It's always good practice to keep all images etc in the Site folder or a sub folder of the Site folder.

Hi Duncan, yes they are there, so I dont understand why they are not being picked up then. Any idea?

Try placing the SiteHTML folder with the images inside the Site1 folder, I think that may be where Actinic is slooking for the relative path now.

Yes that has solved the problem Duncan but the question still remains why should I need to do that.

Anyway off to read the thread regards slow performance as we seem to have this issue.

You have to do it because new Actinic versions changed the location of some files. Thus your old locations were no longer valid in v11.

It is recommended not to upgrade straight from v8 to v11 for this and other reasons.

So is the consensus that you should start afresh and just import products?

Not necessarily - you can use the import snapshot approach and select everything if that's what you want. However, your v11 site may need some work before you can publish it.
