    Testing Search Results

Hi I'm making lots of changes to the Search Results, based on Normans mega hack - is there any way I can test what the results are going to look like without uploading?

Load to a test domain instead of main one, cost you about £70-100 a year to have a test site, fab value, can do all development without worrying while main site carries on as normal.

Upload in Test Mode. Or install a local server as per the Advanced Guide. Local server a very fast way of testing.

Hi thanks for those answers. It was more to do with the time it takes to upload, just to check a small tweak - we have 60,000 products and the Buy-From-Search hack creates a separate file for each one, so it takes a few hours to upload in total. I was wondering if there was a way to previewing the layout of the results - without uploading at all - just like you can for other page types.

Dynamic pages do not preview, scripts seem to upload very early on in the upload process though, so you might find you can see things much quicker than you think. Failing that, upload overnight to a test domain, test in the morning.
