customer account import

Can any excel wizzes copy flat file fields into hierarchical for customer account import? I managed to copy fields across but they dont 'drag down the page' to populate the sheet.

I know Codepath do a plug in but I am fancying tryin to learn to do it myself.

Add a column on the left first with a running number so you can sort later. Then sort by Header and copy into another worksheet. You can then do the Excel work. Copy it all back into the original worksheet when done and sort on the column you added. Delete the column and import. Obviously backup first.
