different vat inc price on search results

    v11 site : http://www.barrelsandbottles.co.uk

    search for xb300

    search results price : £70.84
click through to product page and it gains a penny at £70.85

are we charging people for the search???

It might be worth checking the product VAT setting.

I'd assume that the search result for the product is using the default rounding when multiplying by VAT and the product page is probably set to a different rounding for VAT (to get the nice .85 value).

It might be worth checking the product VAT setting.

Edit 1:I doubt if Search will apply different rounding to specific products so the only way I can think of to avoid this is to use VAT inclusive pricing.

Edit 2: Although £59.04 plus VAT rounds nicely to £70.85 so there should be no need to have applied any special rounding. Which is the correct price?

Same VAT should be applied across the board (line and standard). Getting nice round numbers is a pain using VAT exclusive prices - using VAT inc input is not viable when the rest of the company systems work ex VAT.

I don't mind if the prices are not "nice" but just interested as to why they are showing different depending on the page. I can already imagine the phone call from a keen-eyed troublemaker demanding we charge the 1p less price otherwise he is sending a letter to Trading Standards and a phone call to Mr Obama.

I think you need to get Actinic to look into this.

As you're using display prices including VAT (I believe) then Actinic should be generating the VAT inclusive value for the 'Price' variable. Looking at the scripts it looks as if the search scripts are using the same 'Price' variable so there's no reason I can see why the values should be different.

PS. There was a similar thread back in V7 but neither the OP nor Actinic were kind enough to post the outcome.
