    Register Button or Link

Just running a hare... Now that there are built in accounts in V11 can't we have a register for an account page that we can link to with a navigation button or link??? Sure you can tick the box in checkout to create an account but it seems if you want a site wide 'Register for and Account' link you have to use the traditional way of creating a product: http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=44574

This is a client led enquiry.

To what end would registering for an account before buying serve for you?

Hi Jon. It is a client request that her trade customers can visit the site to register, so she can then approve their status and they can then qualify for discounted prices. Registering at checkout they will not get the discounts until their next visit.

One of my clients approves accounts first and so uses Machform in a fragment to allow visitors to apply for an account. The account is then entered into Actinic manually on the desktop and a discount code is sent to the new account holder.

A form in a fragment would do t but using KB's method you just click to add the customer as an account holder.

Have a look at my sandbox : http://www.graphicz.eu.com/site1/ I have modified the Register product by wrapping the quantity expression in a 'visibility:hidden;' span.

A form is better as the dummy product method may be a little misleading once you get to the cart as all the phrases are for someone buying a product. A simple form would make life better for the client and require a little extra effort for the backoffice crew

I agree the form is better, which is where we came in! Now accounts are built in, it would be good if the Registration process was built in. A little back office work for a couple of registrations is a lot of work for several hundred or more registrations!
