    Email for 3rd party recipient

    Hi
when a customer selects an alternative delivery address the emails still go to the Invoice address, but it would be handy if they went to the recipient address for things such as tracking codes. Is there a way to do this.

Did you check the suggestion in this thread?

    http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=15515

If you have a ; rather than a space separating email addresses in the 'send copy to' box then actinic will stop sending emails before getting to the delivery address email.

Thanks but that will not work as I have no email address to enter until the product is ordered.
      Just to be clear.
Fred orders a mattress to be sent to Jim.
All emails go to Fred, I want them to got to Jim as well.

What is a little bit frustrating is that when the customer enters a third party address it does ask for an email address, so the customer cannot understand why the tracking email does not go to that email address.
Obviously I can send an email outside of Actinic but that is clunky and can get forgotten.

I don't think you will get this to happen, main reason being if Jim wants to order a mattress for Fred's birthday, the last thing he will want is Fred to get an invoice showing how much his present was. I can see in your situation that is not great, but they will have most likely gone with a rule that the receiver will not get notification for the above reason I expect.

Yes, I can see that logic, however I would not have thought that it would so difficult that when you select the Order shipped template, it could also remove pricing info and collect the third party email info.

They would need to add a checkbox for the orderer to specify whether he wants an email send to the recipient and then you'd probably need other options such as 'should we send the price info also' etc. Actinic works very globally on stuff like this, there isn't one rule for one and one for others, it's just a blanket rule.

As a workaround, you might be able to add two email addresses in the invoice email field separated by a space and label the field that they can add multiple addresses (if it works) so all parties get an email. Could also be disabled on the delivery fields so not asked if it is not really doing anything useful anyway.

What I am going to do is in the email with the tracking code say something like "if you have ordered this for someone else, you may want to email them this Tracking code"
