Not choosing SPP for search results

    Dear all,
We have SPP with product pages now installed on the site. Now the <back breadcrumb link rather than a true breadcrumb works if you have clicked through from a section higher up. But if you use the search and go direct to a product then the <back link does nto work correctly. As you have not come from the section higher up the tree.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

Previously when we did a search you went to the higher tree section and linked to a bookmark of the product ref. This is what we still want to do rather than go to the spp product page.

      Dear Krithika,

Thank you for the reply. Understand that there will be a few issues as you roll out new features. A simple rejigging of the search option to revert to the previous v10 model would be best.

But in the meantime I have had to hardcode in a breadcrumb trail using Norman's suggestion in
      http://community.actinic.com/showthr...t=product+page
I tested this on a dummy site and this worked okay but on our main site this ended up with breadcrumb links for each product even in sections higher up from the SPP product page.

So I copied the layout for the Product Page, which was using standard product page using css, and then created a new layout just for Product pages with Norman's code added. Then chose this as the layout for the SPP product pages.

This does not solve the duplicates problem having a different link, which was the purpose of the <back link but this is less of a problem than a confusing search that does not work correctly.

Another reason I gues to prefer the sections advanced guide solution for SPP

I have added a wish list request to have an option for links in the search results to point to the section pages, even if product pages are enabled.

WRT to the breadcrumb links appearing against each product, it sounds as though the code was pasted into the product layout instead of the bulk area layout.

TBH the Back link was a quick fix because we were running out of time. In v12 we plan to replace it with a proper dynamic breadcrumb trail, so that shoppers can always return to their previous page regardless of the route by which they arrived.
