Changing the color of a button

I just took over as storekeeper for a motorcycle club. I updated the software from 7 to 11 and I am trying to get a new look. We have these "buttons" that are used to explain the catagories (see http://venturers.org/acatalog/). I want to change the color of those buttons with the V's. How can I do that?

It's either the default section image, used when a section image has not been defined, this is defined in site options. Or it is the section image defined against each of those sections, in which case select the section and look at the image field for each.
