Importing v10 orders into v11

Are there any implications for importing orders from v10 into v11?

Have a busy site in v10 that is being upgraded into v11 but unable to suspend ordering for too long and the upgrade needs a lot of manual intervention along with design changes to ready into v11 (2 days work if all goes well)

So plan is to trade in v10 whilst upgrading into v11, download latest orders into v10 and suspend temporarily - import orders to v11 then upload v11 live.

Or is there a better way?

Upgrade the V10 site separately, so V10 operates as normal and you work on the upgrade until complete. Then snapshot the new v11 site, import the v10 into v11 (this gets the orders into it) and then import the new V11 snapshot and exclude the orders (tickbox on 4th screen of the snapshot import process). That then gives you the new design plus the up to date orders, works well for me when i do this.
