    Fileinfo Table

Does anyone know what Fileinfo Table is responsible for in the Database?

I have received an error during back-up

There was a problem with the database Operation: Adding a new record to the [FileInfo] table String data, right truncated

I have also noticed that I have lost about 30 product descriptions that I did earlier in the week and wonder if these are connected.

I will contact support on Monday but any advice in the meantime would be appreciated.

Upon closer inspection, after importing all my backups through the week it would appear that product descriptions have been going missing from within Actinic through the week.

I can only assume that Fileinfo table is responsible for holding Extended Information, could someone confirm if this is the case?

Also is Truncated data something I can sort myself, or as I suspect I need to wait for Actinic to reopen on Monday.

    Many thanks

    Jason

FileInfo contains a list of the files that end up in acatalog on the server.

A truncation error could happen on either of the sFileName or sPath fields if either the file name or the path to that file (if it's not in your Site folder) are over 255 bytes long.

Check that you've not used some crazy long names (page names, images etc) or have long paths to these files. Images, etc are best kept within the Site folder, or even better a sub-folder of the Site folder like "images".

Also Actinic used to create Sections names like CopyOfCopyOfCopyOfSectionName if you made many duplicates of duplicates type pages. That's a possible route to inadvertently going over the 255 limit.

          No that didn't work Norman.

I deleted and then purged every section of the websites 1 by 1, doing a snapshot after every change but still receiving the error.

I have deleted every section, product, fragment etc as well as all additional upload files.

There is no content left in Actinic but still the error occurs.

I will submit a ticket to support, but thankyou for spending the time Norman.

          Kind regards

Obvious perhaps - but you compacted too I presume?

Yes Duncan, is always the first thing I do, but as I always tend to miss the obvious it is a valid suggestion.

              Many thanks
