Super slow since upgrading to V11.2

Hello Folks,

Thanks for your time in advance.

I have a problem with the desk top running real slow since upgrading to v11 in the extended product info section in the content tree.

I was super fast on 10 and since porting to 11 its painfull to use and getting really tiresome to add product.

I have tried all sorts defraging the HD and checked to see if the processor is being taxed but nothing all working well.

I have been reading about blocks. I have looked in the code but man Im going to screw something up here!

Does anyone what I am meant to be looking for to block i get that it might be something to with java or facebook links and the like but im lost!

Do you have something in the layout customised?. The block you may refer to is around any code such as social media which can produce slow loading. See here.

I have looked through the code and there is nothing that jumps out has anyone got a screenie of what I need to be looking for please?

I know I'm a noob but real keen to learn!

If there's anything in your page design / layout that starts with 'http:' then it's accessing these via the internet rather than locally on your PC and that will slow things down.

Things like:

- Statcounters
- javascripts
- images
- add this
- facebook

etc, etc can all do this and should be located within a blockif so that they aren't loaded when previewing.

OK getting there now.

Can anyone explain why it should change from when I was running v10 there was no lag whatsoever and lightning fast.

Change to Version 11.0.2 and it grinds to a holt!

There's no real reason I can think of why just changing from V10 to V11 would do this. Usually it's something that's been done at or around the same time.

On the other hand, each version does have it's own caching and background preparation and it could be that v11 is more aggresive, assuming that people are now using blockifs.

The usual suspect is external content but there are other possible causes. Check the knowledge base article on performance issues.
